Āveṇikasutta. There are five special (āveṇika) woes which a woman has to undergo as distinct from a man: at a tender age she goes to her husband’s family, leaving her relations; she is subject to menses; to pregnancy; to labour at child-birth; and she has to wait upon a man. SN.iv.239.
