Asubhasutta 01. There are four modes of progress with reference to a monk who lives contemplating the unloveliness of the body, the repulsiveness of food, etc. His attainment, however, may be sluggish if his five indriyas (of faith, energy, etc.) are dull (AN.ii.150f).
