Jātipūjaka Thera untranslated

Jātipūjaka Thera. An Arahant. On the day of Vipassī Buddha’s birth many miracles occurred, and soothsayers predicted that he would be a Buddha. Jātipūjaka, hearing this, offered him jasmine flowers. Three kappas ago he became king thirty-four times under the name of Supāricariya (Ap.i.154).

He is probably identical with Samitigutta. Thag­a.i.176.
