Matarodanajātaka draft
Matarodanajātaka (Ja 317). The Bodhisatta was once born in a family worth eighty crores. When his parents died, his brother managed the estate. Some time later the brother also died, but the Bodhisatta shed no tear. His relations and friends called him heartless, but he convinced them that he did not weep because he knew that all things are transient.
The story was related to a landowner of Sāvatthī who gave himself up to despair on the death of his brother. The Buddha visited him and preached to him, and the man became a Sotāpanna. Ja.iii.56-8.
Matarodanajātaka (Ja 317). Bodhisatta từng sinh ra trong một gia đình trị giá tám mươi crore. Khi cha mẹ ngài qua đời, anh trai ngài quản lý tài sản. Một thời gian sau, người anh trai cũng qua đời, nhưng Bodhisatta không hề rơi một giọt nước mắt. Họ hàng và bạn bè gọi ngài là vô tình, nhưng ngài thuyết phục họ rằng ngài không khóc vì ngài biết mọi vật đều vô thường.
