Veḷudvāreyyasutta untranslated
Veḷudvāreyyasutta. The Brahmins and householders of Veḷudvāra visit the Buddha when he comes to their village and ask for a teaching which will be profitable to them. The Buddha points out to them the advantages of keeping the five precepts: abstention from taking life, from theft, etc., avoidance of slander, harsh speech and frivolous talk, and of having faith in the Buddha, the Dhamma and the Saṅgha.
