Buddhupaṭṭhāka Thera. An Arahant. Ninety-one kappas ago he blew a conch shell in honour of Vipassī Buddha. Twenty-four kappas ago he became king sixteen times under the name of Mahā Nigghosa (Ap.i.138f). He is probably identical with Vimala Thera. Thag­a.i.122f.
