Hatthipāla untranslated

Hatthipāla 01. A teacher of old, with a following of many hundred disciples to whom he taught the way to union with Brahma (AN.iii.371, 373; iv.135). He is perhaps identical with Hatthipāla 2.

Hatthipāla 02. The Bodhisatta, born as son of the chaplain of Esukārī, king of Benares. See the Hatthipālajātaka (Ja 509).
