Añjanavasabha untranslated

Añjanavasabha. The state elephant of Dhanañjaya, king of the Kurus.

It was credited with the power of bringing rain; the Brahmins of Dantapura in Kaliṅga, therefore, begged for it during a severe drought.

But the elephant was of no avail, the rain did not come, and so it was returned to Dhanañjaya. Ja.ii.368f.; Dhpa.iv.88f.
