Daṇḍissara. A special grant given by kings to mendicant artists. It is first heard of in the time of Kassapa IV. (Cv.lii.3), and seems to have been kept up by Sena III. (Cv.liii.30) and Vijayabāhu I. (Cv.lx.22).
