Dhītāsutta 01. Pasenadi visits the Buddha and grumbles because Mallikā has given birth to a daughter. The Buddha points out to him that a woman may prove a better offspring than a male. SN.i.86.

Dhītāsutta 02. Incalculable is Saṁsāra, and it is impossible to find one who, in his wanderings, has not lost a daughter. SN.ii.190.
