Iṭṭhakāvatī untranslated
Iṭṭhakāvatī. A village in Magadha, mentioned, together with Dīgharājī, as the residence of the Saṁsāramocaka heretics. Near by was the Āruṇavatīvihāra, where Sāriputta once stayed with a company of monks. The village had retained its name for five hundred years (Pv-a.67).
The Petavatthu (pp.12-13) contains the story of a woman of Iṭṭhakāvatī who was born as a Peta.
