Sereyyaka Thera untranslated
Sereyyaka Thera. An Arahant. In the time of Vipassī Buddha he was a learned Brahmin, and, seeing the Buddha in the forest, offered him sereyyaka (sirīga) flowers, which formed a canopy over the Buddha’s head. Fifteen kappas ago he was king twenty-five times under the name of Cīnamāla. Ap.i.155; cf. Kassapa (Thaga.i.178).
