Vatthadāyaka Thera. An Arahant. In the time of Atthadassī Buddha, he was a Garuḷa, and, seeing the Buddha on his way to Gandhamādana, he offered him a garment. Thirty-six kappas ago he was king seven times under the name of Aruṇaka. Ap.i.116.
