Sakkhara (v.l. Sakkara). A township of the Sākiyans where the Buddha once stayed with Ānanda (SN.v.2). It was not far from Rājagaha and was the residence of Macchariya Kosiya (Dhpa.i.367; Ja.i.345). It was forty-five yojanas from Jetavana. Ja.i.348.
