Sīhalaṭṭhakathā draft
Sīhalaṭṭhakathā. The old Commentary on the Tipiṭaka which contained the Mahā Vihāra tradition. It was supposed to have been compiled by, or at least under, Mahinda. Buddhaghosa learnt it under Saṅghapāla and retranslated it into the Magadha (Pāli) tongue, while living in the Ganthākarapariveṇa (Cv.xxxvii.228-234). It evidently contained a great deal of historical material as well. For its nature and contents see Mhvṭ. Introd. lvii ff.
Sīhalaṭṭhakathā. Bộ Chú giải cổ về Tipiṭaka, chứa đựng truyền thống của Mahā Vihāra. Bộ này được cho là do Mahinda biên soạn, hoặc ít nhất là dưới sự chỉ đạo của ngài. Buddhaghosa học bộ này dưới sự hướng dẫn của Saṅghapāla và dịch lại sang tiếng Magadha (Pāli), trong khi sống tại Ganthākarapariveṇa (Cv.xxxvii.228-234).
