Biḷālidāyaka Thera 01. An Arahant. In the time of Padumuttara Buddha he was an ascetic in the Himālaya and offered the Buddha some biḷāli-tubers. Fifty-four kappas ago he was a king called Sumekhali (Ap.i.145) (v.l. Sumelaya). He is probably identical with Kosalavihārī Thera. Thaga.i.134f.
