Ekadīpiya Thera 01. An Arahant. Ninety-four kappas ago he kept a lamp lighted all night near the Thūpa built over the relics of Siddhattha Buddha. For seventy-seven kappas he was in heaven and was thirty-one times king of the Devas. Twenty-eight times be was king among men. His body shone like the sun, and he could see a distance of one hundred leagues. His palace in heaven was called Ekadīpi. He entered the Saṅgha at the age of four (?) and in a fortnight became an Arahant. Ap.ii.373.
Ekadīpiya Thera 01. Một Arahant. Chín mươi bốn kappa trước, ngài giữ một ngọn đèn cháy suốt đêm gần Thūpa được dựng trên xá-lợi của Siddhattha Buddha. Trong bảy mươi bảy kappa, ngài ở cõi trời và ba mươi mốt lần làm vua của chư thiên. Hai mươi tám lần ngài làm vua giữa loài người. Thân ngài chiếu sáng như mặt trời, và ngài có thể nhìn xa một trăm do-tuần. Cung điện của ngài ở cõi trời được gọi là Ekadīpi. Ekadīpiya Thera 02. An Arahant. In the past he had lighted a lamp before the salala-bodhi of the Buddha Padumuttara. Sixteen thousand kappas ago he was four times king under the name of Candābha. Ap.i.189.
